The Polarie time lapse adapter is an optional accessory for time lapse images with the Vixen Montering Polarie Star Tracker.
If you align the Polarie in the direction of the zenith, you can create motion for time lapse images with it. This small accessory is equipped with a standard photo thread and so can be stably mounted on a tripod. The time lapse adapter is compatible with both a 1/4 inch and a 3/8 inch screw.
The set-up is very simple:
Step 1: remove the "built-in compass" from the Star-Tracker housing.
Step 2: screw the time lapse adapter into the Polarie housing.
Step 3: align the Polarie horizontally on your camera tripod.
Step 4: srew the ball head on the rotary plate and attach your camera.
That’s it! You can now use your Polarie to create time lapse images.
What is "time lapse" photography?
Time lapse photography is a technique whereby time lapse film is created in which a series of several hundred images are made over a period of time. These recordings are later added together with software to create a movie which, in just a few minutes, plays a recording of an event that took took place over hours.
