Favour intelligence over brute force in the battle against dew. These controls increase your battery life by optimising energy consumption. The controls collect and analyse information in real-time to heat your lens enough to prevent dew forming.
This control system is ideal for the heated dew-prevention rings for the Celestron SC scopes as they have a built-in thermistor (temperature sensor) which measures the temperature of your Celestron SC, EdgeHD or RASA’s Schmidt plate. Heated rings from other manufactures are also compatible. In this case, you also need the temperature probe from the list of recommended accessories.
Intelligent controls: At the heart of the control system lies a powerful microprocessor which gathers information using sensors, calculates the data, and automatically adjusts your heating element. With the help of the integrated environmental sensor, the control unit monitors the ambient temperature and humidity and monitors the temperature of the heating element with the help of temperature probes.
The dew protection control system can also be used as a stand-alone accessory. If you look at the control unit data and want to manually change the settings, you can connect it to your Celestron telescope's hand controller or your PC. The control system is compatible with NexStar+ or StarSense hand controller using the latest firmware, or with Celestron CPWI telescope control software which comes with every Celestron mount.
Unique design: The smart dew protection controls are enclosed in a robust metal casing. Inside, a fan protects the control unit electronics. The sensor and control unit, which contain the device's status LEDs and environmental sensors, are located on the top of the control system. It also helps with cable management. Celestron has placed the temperature and humidity sensors here, away from the control unit and other components which generate heat. Unlike other control systems, these sensors do not require additional cables to obtain precise readings.
The LED lights on the control unit display the device's current status. The LEDs warn you when the control unit is consuming more electricity than your power source can provide or when the battery needs to be recharged. You can dim the LEDs when beneath a dark sky.
The Celestron dew protection controls are secured using the integrated Vixen-style prism clamps. If you would prefer to securely attach your control system to your tripod leg, use the provided belt.

4x output: The control system has four connections in order to simultaneously control four heating elements. You can use one connection to heat the telescope whilst using the other one to heat a second telescope, finderscope, guide sleeve, eyepiece or another accessory.
Additionally, the control system has four 12V DC outlets to power a variety of DC devices, such as your mount, focusing motor and camera. One of the outlets has a variable output which can be set to between 3V and 12V. Furthermore, the control system has three USB ports.
Output: The 4x smart dew protection controls are powered using a 12V DC battery and can handle a maximum supply of 240W (max. 20A current at 12V DC).
USB 3.2 hub: The integrated USB 3.2 hub connects three USB devices to your computer using just one cable, making cable management a doddle. There are three USB-A ports, each of which is powered. Just as with the 12V outlets, each USB port can be switched on and off using the CPWI or Celestron hand-held controls.
