Electronic polarscope: no need to crawl beneath your mount any more! You can use this accessory to comfortably and very precisely polar alignment for your mount on the screen. The electronic finderscope has a built-in camera. This shows you the location of the north celestial pole on your laptop or PC and the location of your mount’s polar axes. Simply use the mount’s azimuthal and equatorial adjustment screws to align both points and voilà!
The location of the north celestial pole differs slightly from the location of the Pole Star. The electronics calculate the exact position using date and time. Thanks to the camera’s sensitivity and the large visual field, polar alignment is even possible on a mount which has only been roughly set up correctly.
Also works in the southern hemisphere ! Furthermore, at low latitudes, atmospheric refraction is taken into consideration.
What makes the iPolar system unique?
1. Can also be installed in the RA shank of all iOptron equatorial mounts (apart from the SmartEQ Pro).
2. Can be used on all mounts with adapters (either internal or external).
3. USB plug-and-play (no drivers required)
4. Works worldwide, no need to adjust for northern or southern hemisphere.
5. No clear view of the Pole Star (north) or Sigma Octantis (south) required.
6. No need to turn the mount during polar alignment.

Each iPolar is designed for a specific iOptron mount and only fits that mount. Therefore, please pay attention to the exact application range of the iPolar before buying. A reference to the compatible mount is also included in the product description.
