The Orion MC 127/1540 telescope:
With its 127mm aperture, this very power full but compact OTA collects almost twice as much light as a reflector of only 90mm aperture. It gives very high-contrast images, showing a lot of detail when planetary observing and even permits deep sky observing. The OTA is really light at only 3.2 kg, allowing easy transport away from light polluted cities to darker observing sites. Its low weight also makes it suitable as a spotting scope for nature watching. In contrast to the very expensive camera adaptors for classic spotting scopes low-cost adaptors are available, for example, for photographing small birds. A counterweight ensures precise balancing of the optics. The mount provides a stable base for most small to medium-sized optics and is ideal for exploring the night sky. Maksutov telescopes have their own thread, which is different to the SC thread. This means that an additional Adapter is required. Using this, then makes the extensive range of accessories for Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes available for use.
