A dream telescope for astrophotography!
The Ritchey-Chretien optics with f/8 deliver very good imaging without the use of additional correctors and also allow the use of cameras with large sensors.
The advantages:
- Authentic RC optics with hyperbolic primary and secondary mirrors
- Quartz primary and secondary mirrors - no temperature-dependent focus drift
- The secondary mirror has a central mark for precise system collimation
- 99% reflection with dielectric tempering on the primary and secondary mirrors for a bright image
- Large, even and coma-free field without a corrector - ideal for astrophotography
- Sufficient back focus for additional optical accessories: 233mm from the back of the tube, 127mm from the focuser's 2” adapter
Thanks to the lightweight yet extremely rigid carbon truss tube construction, the telescope is relatively lightweight. This means that you can save on the mount. The “smaller” GSO RC models are still transportable. Further advantages of this open structure include its fast cooling time and minor dew problems when compared to Schmidt-Cassegrain optics.
Ritchey-Chretiens were amongst the most expensive telescopes until recently. Thanks to GSO, we can offer you RC astrographs at affordable prices.
