The William Optics’ ZenithStar range consists of compact yet very high-quality apochromats which are ideally suited for use with a DSLR camera. With these, you can capture excellent wide-angle images of large star fields. Combined with an optional flattener, these provide a corrected image field with a diameter of 45 millimetres right up to the edges.
The lightweight and compact ZenithStar apochromat and a DSLR fit well on a photography mount, such as the Skywatcher Star Adventurer or the iOptron Star Tracker - a simple, lightweight astrophotography system.
Z 61: Small can be this beautiful
The new ZenithStar 61 and William Optics’ most versatile and lightest weight apochromats.
Its clear optics allow high magnifications and sharp imaging during astrophotography and nature photography using any SLR camera. Thanks to its large visual field, the entire Moon or (with a filter) the Sun can be viewed at once. A special flattener for photography is available in the accessories section.
The FPL-53 glass, which is built into the ZenithStar 61's lens, has considerably better dispersion properties than the previously used FPL-51 (ED). FPL-53 is very close to fluoride glass in terms of quality but is considerably cheaper. Therefore, FPL-53 is sometimes also referred to as synthetic fluoride.
