The easily transportable AZ-GTiX azimuthal mount has a built-in WiFi module to allow it to be wirelessly controlled by a smartphone or tablet. You only have to install the free SynScan app for iOS or Android.
The mount moves very quietly and can carry a single load of up to 6kg or two loads of up to 10kg at each end. It takes standard 45mm Vixen-style prism rails. An L-bracket with an additional fifth-wheel plate and a 61mm extension pole are included as standard.
The AZ-GTiX produces its own WiFi network. Once you have paired your smartphone with the mount, you can see information such as the place, time and date from the computer controls. You then just need to follow a very simple procedure to align your telescope and you are ready to discover the universe, with the help of the intuitive app.
When combined with the SynScan app, the AZ-GTiX is a fully computer-controlled GoTo mount. Using the built-in servomotors, you can point the telescope towards one of the 10,000 celestial objects found within the app's database. The selected object is held within the eyepiece by the mount, in other words, the motors compensate for the Earth's rotation.
Dual saddle: The mount can hold two scopes at the same time, a combination of a telescope and an camera, for example.
The patented Freedom Find dual encoder system enables you to move the telescope by hand without the computerised controls losing their alignment. This means you can pan across the skies by hand. This is quiet, quick and saves energy.
Tripod connection: Weighing in at only 2kg, the AZ-GTiX mounting head can be installed on all tripods with a standard 3/8” photo thread.
